Safety Checks YOU Can Make

Furnace Air Filters

Clean filters (if permanent) or replace them regularly. Inspect them monthly.

Hot Water Temperature

To prevent scalds from hot tap water, set your water heater thermostat to 120 °F.

Flammable Liquid Storage

Never store materials that may produce flammable vapors-such as painting materials, cleaning solvents, gasoline cans and oily rags-near a gas appliance or in the same room.

Carbon Monoxide Alarms/Detectors Installed

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarms/detectors be installed in homes near sleeping areas.
