Interruptible Operations Center 


ALERT: BALANCING CURTAILMENT-SHORT -LEVELS 1D, 2D, 3D and 1P IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

Effective 10 a.m., Sunday, February 1, 2015 all interruptible customers in Levels 1D, 2D, 3D and 1P in the District of Columbia are in a Balancing Curtailment-Short. This means your third-party natural gas supplier MUST deliver natural gas to the Washington Gas system in an amount equal to or greater than your facilities usage. Please contact your third-party natural gas supplier for operational instructions specific to your account or contractual restrictions specific to your account. This curtailment will continue until further notice. Please note that interruptible customers in Level 1P will be subject to an interruption on Monday February 2, 2015 at 10:00AM, as noted below. Levels 1D, 2D and 3D will remain in a Balancing Curtailment-Short. Please continue to monitor the interruptible operations website and the interruptible hotline at 703-750-4773.

 

ALERT: INTERRUPTIBLE OPERATIONAL NOTIFICATION - LEVEL 1P IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, MARYLAND & VIRGINIA

Effective 10 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2015, all interruptible customers in Level 1P in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia will be under an interruption. An interruption means these facilities are REQUIRED to switch to their alternative fuel source and discontinue use of all natural gas until further notice. Usage of natural gas during an interruption will result in penalties being assessed. This interruption is scheduled to end at 10 a.m.., Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Please continue to monitor the interruptible operations website and the interruptible hotline at 703-750-4773.

All Interruptible Customers were mailed an interruptible readiness package at the end of September 2014, the package was sent to the attention of the administrative contact listed for each account. This package contains important interruptible operation material including contact personnel sheet and verification of equipment readiness that should be returned by October 31, 2014. This information must be keep current to allow us to notify you of interruptible actions. Failure to update contact information does not eliminate the need to comply with interruptible notifications, and failure to comply will result in penalties for usage during any interruption.
