Virginia Customer Choice Program
You Now Can Choose Your Natural Gas Provider.
Effective April 1, 2001, the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC)
expanded customer choice by granting Washington Gas's request to permit all of its customers in Virginia to buy their natural gas directly from a certified, retail energy supplier of their choice. Prior to the recent ruling, opportunities for Washington Gas customers to choose their gas suppliers were available to a limited number of customers. While the residential program will be phased in over the course of this year, all commercial and industrial customers currently may buy their natural gas from a competitive supplier.
This decision makes Washington Gas the first utility in Virginia with
authorization to give all of its customers access to third-party suppliers.

Customer Billing OptionsAs a participant in the
Customer Choice Program, you have the choice to select how you would like to be billed. Depending on what billing services your natural gas supplier offers, you may receive single billing or separate billing. Contact your natural gas
supplier for details.
